Teeth

October 2005·p. 79

THE SHORT VERSION

Ordinary troops can use a fine white line inside the mouth, but display work picks out individual teeth with the smallest brush. Parkes suggests leaving gaps for a battered fighter and gives larger teeth a Bubonic Brown foundation followed by increasingly narrow bone-white lines. The comparison shows how tooth shape and missing teeth affect the expression as much as the colour itself.
