Escape from Dwarrowdelf
September 2005·pp. 26–35
THE SHORT VERSION
Steve Cumiskey guides the Fellowship across unstable elevated walkways while Adam Troke recycles Goblins, captains and Cave Trolls to block their route. Gandalf’s Blinding Light sharply reduces the archers’ effectiveness, and his spells let the fighters overcome repeated monsters. New chasms complicate movement and consume precious Might, while Merry and Pippin fall protecting the group.
Gimli dies close to the exit, but Boromir reaches the stairs and stops further reinforcements. The remaining heroes clear the platform and escape with Frodo, securing a Good victory. Both players reconsider their tactics afterward: Adam was too cautious with Trolls and misplaced the first chasm, while Steve credits Gandalf and suggests advancing Aragorn earlier to exploit his renewable Might.
