Painting the Tent
January 2005·p. 39
THE SHORT VERSION
A sealed paper surface receives warm brown drybrushes followed by a pale bone finish. Selective brown or chestnut ink washes vary individual hides without changing the basic method, making the tent appear assembled from different skins and offering a reusable treatment for covered huts, siege towers or howdahs.
