The Battle of Middenheim

January 2005·pp. 46–53

THE SHORT VERSION

Gav Thorpe recounts Archaon’s stalled invasion, the relief armies’ costly attacks and the competing ambitions of Grimgor, Be’lakor and the Skaven. Valten’s confrontation with the Everchosen ends in severe injury, Grimgor claims personal supremacy and Mannfred’s intervention finally breaks the surviving Chaos army.

Victory leaves ruined provinces and dangerous political divisions. A damaged Skaven doomsday device remains beneath Middenheim, rival religious leaders dispute authority and Valten’s apparent murder threatens an imperial schism, forcing Karl Franz to turn uncertainty into a public message of Sigmar’s continuing protection.
